South Fellowship Church

At South Fellowship Church, we believe we are changed when we encounter Jesus. Each week, we teach through a passage of Scripture, asking Him what He wants us to learn and how He is calling us to live in His way with His heart. Our sermons invite people from all backgrounds and spiritual levels to grow in Christlikeness and follow His example—because that is ultimately what the world needs. Want to dive deeper? Check out Red Couch Theology! Recorded live on YouTube every Thursday at 11am, this podcast unpacks Sunday’s teaching through casual, insightful discussions with Pastors Alex, Aaron, and occasional guests. Monday May 12, 2014

Acts 3:11-26 In this passage we read one of the most beautiful titles for Jesus. Jesus is, "the author of life." This passage is a sermon that the apostle Peter preached to a crowd that gathered after he had healed a lame man outside the temple. Peter stands and tells the people that he didn't heal the man but that Jesus' name had healed the man. He then calls the people to repent.
Repent: This word is loaded with mostly negative images of angry religious people holding hateful signs. In this sermon we learn that repentance was not meant to be that way. This passage paints a picture of repentance that is full of hope, life, future, and joy. If repentance brings all of that maybe we should dust it off and try it again.

The Movement - What I Have

Sunday May 04, 2014

Sunday May 04, 2014

Acts 3: 1-10 "I have no silver and gold, but what I do have I give to you. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk (v.6)."
We may not have silver and gold to give people but often the thing that we do have is far better then silver or gold. Sometimes the things we don't have open us up to being more creative in our service. This sermon helps us think through what we have to offer the advance of the kingdom of God. God wants to use our gifts serve people and to bring us joy in what we were made for.

The Movement - Waiting

Sunday Mar 23, 2014

Sunday Mar 23, 2014

Acts 1: 12-26 The title of this message demonstrates some of the tension that is found in God's movement and mission. Sometimes God asks us to wait before we move. That waiting can be one of the most difficult parts of following God especially when you have captured a vision for what he wants. In this passage of scripture we find the Apostles of Jesus waiting for the Holy Spirit to come dwell in them. Jesus told them to bring the good news to the whole world but he also told them to wait for the Spirit to arrive first.
In this sermon we explore what it looks like to wait well.
